Why Mini Sessions Might Be Perfect For You

One of my absolute favourite things to offer throughout the year is mini sessions. Recently, I made the switch from offering them anytime to hosting them at select times — and honestly, it’s been a game changer.

By doing this, I’ve been able to create more fun, unique, and thoughtfully planned experiences for families, couples, and pet lovers. Each mini session now feels intentional, a little more special, and full of moments that turn into lasting memories.

So if you’ve ever wondered whether a mini session vs a full session is the right fit for you, here are some of my favourite reasons why mini sessions might just be the perfect choice.

GREAT FOR EVERYONE!

One of my favourite things about mini sessions is how versatile they are — they truly work for almost anything. I also choose locations intentionally to make sure they feel welcoming and inclusive for all types of sessions.

Families, couples, pets, newly engaged (hello mini engagement sessions ), maternity, or even something a little more creative like cosplay — mini sessions are such a fun and flexible option.

No matter what season of life you’re in, they’re a perfect way to capture it.

SHORTER SESSIONS = LESS STRESS

If you’ve got little ones, it’s your first professional photo session, or you’re bringing your doggo who may or may not listen — mini sessions are the perfect way to ease in.

You’d be surprised how much we can capture in just 15–20 minutes, all while keeping things relaxed, fun, and a little bit chaotic (the good kind)… and still leaving you with the rest of your day.

LOWER PRICE, SAME MAGIC

I get it — life can feel a little expensive sometimes (because… it is). But that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on capturing the moments that matter most.

Your kids won’t stay little forever, and these seasons fly by way too fast.

Mini sessions are a more budget-friendly way to still get that same fun experience and all the beautiful, joy-filled images.

PERFECT FOR UPDATING YOUR PHOTOS

If you’re not someone who only wants seasonal photos, mini sessions are perfect for keeping your photos updated year after year.

With different locations, seasonal setups, and fun new vibes, each session gives you fresh family, couple, or pet photos to look back on. It’s the easiest way to capture life as it changes — the little moments, the growth, and all the in-between memories.

Because let’s be real… things change fast, and these are the moments you’ll want to remember.

Locations and Types of Mini sessions!

When I was working a full-time job, choosing mini session locations and dates had to fit around my schedule. But now that I’m full time? I am SO excited to finally explore all the locations and ideas I’ve been dreaming about for years — while also bringing back some fan favourites.

Some of my absolute favourites every year are the Flower Field Minis at The Flower Lady & Gent and my Fall Mini Sessions (because the colours? unmatched).

And this year, I’m so excited to be expanding even more — bringing back Lavender Field Minis at a new location, offering Beach Minis again (because who doesn’t love dreamy summer photos by the water), and honestly… who knows what other ideas I might come up with.

With Love and Excitement,

Cassie
