The Perfect Fall Wedding Day
It’s finally time to feature a wedding on the blog, and I knew exactly which one I wanted to start with.
I met Diana and Greg about four and a half years ago, and from the moment we did their engagement session, it felt like we instantly became friends. (And don’t worry — that engagement session will absolutely make its way onto the blog later because it was adorable.)
One of the reasons I wanted to start with their wedding is because it truly felt like the all the right ingredients for an amazing day. The fall colours were glowing that day, every little detail was thoughtfully chosen, and the smiles from their family and friends never left their faces the entire time.
Honestly, it was the perfect recipe for an unforgettable wedding day.
Getting Ready for “I Do”
Before I get too ahead of myself, let’s start at the beginning of the day.
While my bestie Michelle met Greg at the church, I headed over to Diana’s parents’ home to capture some getting-ready moments with the beautiful bride.
From the moment I walked in, the house was filled with love and excitement. Diana had everything ready — her dress hanging perfectly, her invitations and details laid out, and her wedding Toms waiting for their moment. And let me tell you… they were SO cute.
As a fellow Toms girl, I was absolutely fangirling over them. (Fun fact: I actually wore white lace Toms at my own wedding!)
One of the most emotional moments of the morning was Diana’s first look with her dad — I’ll fully admit I was tearing up behind my camera. And the sweet moments she shared with her maid of honour were just as special.
It was the perfect start to a truly beautiful day.
Where They Said “I Do”
Once Diana was all ready, we headed over to Holy Family Parish Catholic Church to meet Greg for the ceremony.
Surrounded by their closest family and friends, Diana and Greg shared a beautiful and heartfelt ceremony. The love and excitement in the room were so easy to feel — it was amazing celebrate with so much love in the air!
Golden Hour & Fall Portraits
After the beautiful ceremony and some fun family photos, we headed off with the wedding party to capture some amazing portraits with Diana and Greg.
We had so much fun frolicking through the fall colours — including convincing the wedding party (aka the Best Man and Maid of Honour) to absolutely go for it and throw leaves at Diana and Greg. Let’s just say… they did not need much convincing.
After our leaf-throwing adventures, we made our way to the reception space in Ilderton for speeches, delicious food, and then… THE most perfect golden hour.
Cue the happy dancing and excited photographer noises from me.
Between the glowing sunset light, the Disney references sprinkled into the speeches, the adorable birdhouse details, and an epic chair lift moment, this wedding truly felt golden from start to finish.
It's All in the Details!
Wedding details always make me so happy because they’re what make every celebration feel unique and personal to the couple.
At Diana and Greg’s wedding, there were so many thoughtful touches that made the day feel completely them. Some of my favourites included the card box Greg made himself (woodworking is one of his favourite hobbies!), the adorable Office reference mugs, their sweet cake topper, and of course Diana’s wedding shoes.
And honestly, this whole day was filled with so many beautiful moments — from the heartfelt ceremony to the golden-hour portraits and every little detail in between. Diana and Greg, thank you for trusting me to capture such an incredible day.
If you’re planning your own wedding and dreaming of photos that capture all the big moments and the little details that make your day uniquely yours, I’d love to chat.
